X240 ELECTRIC COOLING FAN CONCERN: DID THE FAN OPERATE AT ANY SPEED? what do? I'm so confused and stressed and lost and worried I cannot afford repairs or a newer vehicle. From teh repair CD on how to test the fan: The car would either not change gears when its supposed to or take an extremely long time to change over and when it did it felt like it would do it pretty hard, because of this I never drove the car very far or even very long however the car on the way to taking a co-worker home last night which was like a mile away suddenly the car freaking died! My headlights were on, Dashboard, all power, but the engine wouldn't turn over when I attempted to restart the car for like 5 minutes in the middle of an intersection. The light has NEVER blinked, flashed, or been on (and when it is ON it says 'O/D OFF') and suddenly going 10mph made my RPM's go pretty high before the vehicle automatically shifted gears as all cars do when accelerating. it still does the same shit but now worse it seems.ģ days ago I was driving with a friend on the way to the Gym and the O/D light or 'Over Drive' Light started flashing. When the car first started acting up I took the car to AutoZone when it first started acting up and they scanned it and told me it was the 'Speed Sensor' so I bought the EXACT part my car already has in it but new for 18$, and took it to Firestone and they changed it for 50$ yet even after changing it. Other than that the ONLY other work I've done or had done on it is routine oil changes every 3k miles, I recently put some transmission oil into it. I bought it from my parents neighbor who's a nice guy about 2 years ago for around 1750$īefore it was given to me, He had a mechanic work on the car and replaced the fuel pump, but the mechanic broke the O-Ring and I've never gotten it fixed so it leaks gasoline if I fill the tank to full (I've never filled the tank past 1/2 anyways) but it has never seemed like that big of an issue other than the check engine light being on the entire time I've owned it. I own a 1997 Ford Thunderbird, Last I checked it had 130k (roughly) miles on it, it's never had any MAJOR problems and the last owner took very good care of it. Sorry if some of this is jumbled I am kind of intoxicated because I'm stressed out.
